Välkomna till Borås och Grävseminariet 2021: 10-11 september

Coronasäkerhet på Grävseminariet
  • Vi välkomnar maximalt 250 deltagare till kongresshuset i Borås. Det är det antal som ryms glest placerade i stora Kongressalen, och samtidigt är färre än det maxtak för inomhusarrangemang som slagits fast. Även övriga salar kommer att förses med ett maxtak för antalet deltagare och kontrollanter som säkerställer att fler inte kommer in i de salarna.
  • Mat kommer endast att serveras till sittande gäster som under lunchen och galamiddagen placeras vid bord om åtta personer. Flera kaffestationer under seminariet ska möjliggöra för besökare att ta kaffe utan att behöva trängas.
  • Vi skiljer mellan in och utgång till kongresshuset för att minska risken för trängsel.
  • Deltagare uppmanas att hålla avstånd i alla moment.
  • Alla med sjukdomssymptom ombeds stanna hemma.
  • Vi ser gärna att deltagare på Grävseminariet har tagit minst en dos vaccin.

In 1984, an unnamed Irish police woman was charged by her employer, the Irish Police Force (An Garda Síochána), with having sex and giving birth to a baby outside wedlock. The events leading up to those charges, and their aftermath, would utterly change her life. More than 30 years later, Majella Moynihan, prompted by the #MeToo movement, told her story publicly for the very first time in this documentary. She spoke of the misogyny she experienced and how she felt pressured by the Irish Police Force to give her son up for adoption.

Producers of the documentary, Aoife Kelleher and Liam O’Brien, will give a behind the scenes insight into the making of the documentary that went on to become one of the biggest news stories in Ireland in 2019. They will explain how they gathered documentary evidence and assembled it to reveal the systemic approach taken by the hierarchy of An Garda Síochána towards a young female police officer.

‘Documentary On One: The Case of Majella Moynihan’ opened up a culture within the Irish Police force that had never before been investigated. It drew an immediate wave of political response, including an unprecedent apology to Majella from the Police Commissioner and the Minister for Justice within hours of broadcast. The documentary also spurred an investigation into all disciplinary proceedings taken by An Garda Síochána against female police officers.
